Add GPS Navigation
to Your Vehicle's Current Audio/Video System
The GVN 52 is a remote GPS sensor designed to be
integrated with factory audio/video entertainment
systems in vehicles, allowing aftermarket onboard
screens to function much like a StreetPilot® car
navigation system.
Look up and route directly to specific addressees
or point of interests - including restaurants,
hotels, gas stations retail shops or ATMs - while
viewing their exact location on an electronic moving
map. The GVN 52 has a "spoken text" voice prompt
capability which can be used to identify turns by
street name. These turn-by-turn voice cues can be
amplified through the car audio system's speakers,
while the vehicle's video display shows the street
map. The unit comes preloaded with detailed street
mapping for all of North America.
The GVN 52 is operated by the included RF
remote control. When the GVN 52 is connected to a
touchscreen display, the included RF remote control
is still required for unit operation. Touching the
display screen will not operate the features of the
GVN 52.
The optional GXM 30 smart antenna provides XM
Satellite services. With XM WX Weather displaying,
you have the confidence of knowing what weather lies
ahead. XM NavTraffic allows you to spend less time
stuck in traffic by receiving up-to-date traffic
information. And with a subscription to XM Satellite
Radio, you finally get to listen to what you want,
whenever you want to hear it!

will vary depending on the screen being used. For
best results and to ensure customer satisfaction,
Garmin recommends testing GVN 52 with a specific
display model before installing.
